The Chomerics Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, renowned for its expertise in motion and control technologies, has launched the THERM-A-GAP™ PAD 30. This thermally conductive gap filler pad is designed for EV battery packs and integrates seamlessly into the robotic assembly processes common in the automotive industry. Effective thermal management is critical for EV manufacturers, as optimal thermal interface materials (TIM) are necessary to manage the high levels of heat generated by EV battery packs. Clean assembly environments are essential, with robots increasingly used to prevent the introduction of foreign object debris (FOD), ensuring both high performance and automation compatibility of thermal pads.
The THERM-A-GAP PAD 30 stands out for its excellent performance and adaptability, offered at a competitive price. It facilitates efficient assembly with vision sensors that enhance quality control and speed up production. The pads are designed to release easily from their liners for pick-and-place robots, making them ideal for high-volume applications and ensuring safe shipment through specialized packaging. With a soft texture (34 Shore 00), a thermal conductivity of 3.2 W/m-K, and minimal outgassing, the PAD 30 provides an effective thermal interface for heat sinks and electronic devices with uneven surfaces. Its electrical properties include a dielectric strength of 5.9 kVac/mm, volume resistivity of 1013 Ωcm, a dielectric constant of 7.7 at 1,000 KHz, and a dissipation factor of 0.001 at 1,000 kHz, meeting RoHS compliance standards.
