Altair, a global leader in computational intelligence, has announced the winners of the 2024 Altair Enlighten Award, presented in partnership with the Center for Automotive Research (CAR). This award celebrates significant achievements in sustainability and lightweighting within the automotive industry, focusing on innovations that reduce carbon footprints, minimize water and energy consumption, and promote material reuse and recycling. The winner in the Sustainable Product category is DuPont’s BETAMATE™ broad bake adhesive technology, which contributes to reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in vehicle body manufacturing. This is achieved by allowing adhesives to cure at lower temperatures, resulting in energy savings through reduced e-coat oven temperatures and shorter oven cycles. The Enlighten Award, now in its 12th year, is highly coveted and recognized as one of the top sustainability awards in the industry, even being listed among EV Magazine’s top 10 sustainability awards for 2024.
