Formula E has experienced significant growth, with global TV viewership rising by 35%, reaching a cumulative 491 million. Notably, the Monaco race achieved the series’ highest-ever audience at 40 million. Additionally, the global fanbase increased by 23%, now averaging 374 million for the season. This growth is attributed to enhanced social media engagement, with drivers, teams, and special guests playing key roles, leading to a 20% rise in social media following and over 1 billion impressions across platforms. Formula E fans have also recognized the series as more exciting and nearly twice as innovative as Formula 1, particularly due to its emphasis on road-to-race technology, which transfers advancements from the racetrack to consumer vehicles.
Season 10’s key data highlights include a 23% growth in fan numbers and a substantial closing of the gap with other major motorsports like Formula 1 and MotoGP. Specific markets such as China, Indonesia, and Brazil have shown particularly strong fan growth, and TV viewership in countries like the US, Japan, Mexico, and Spain has hit record highs. With six races surpassing the most-watched event from the previous season, Formula E continues to establish itself as the fastest-growing motorsport globally. CEO Jeff Dodds emphasized the series’ ambitions, highlighting upcoming innovations such as the GEN3 Evo car and an expanded 17-race calendar for Season 11.
