Toshiba has introduced the TLX9150M, a high-performance photorelay designed specifically for 400V automotive battery-related control systems.

Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH has introduced the TLX9150M, a high-performance photorelay designed specifically for 400V automotive battery-related control systems. The innovative device boasts a high breakdown voltage of 900V, packaged within a compact SO12L-T casing that is 25% smaller than its predecessor. This photorelay is optimized for applications requiring precise control, such as battery management systems, fuel-cell controls, and fault detection in automotive systems. Its impressive reaction time of just 1ms enhances reliability in control-sensitive tasks, while the device’s low off-state current and energy-efficient operation further add to its appeal for modern automotive systems.

Key to its functionality, the TLX9150M employs an infrared-emitting diode optically coupled to a photo-MOSFET, ensuring robust electrical isolation between the control and switch sides. With an 8mm creepage and clearance distance, along with a durable insulation layer, the device provides safety and reliability even under extreme temperature conditions ranging from -40°C to +125°C. Additionally, compliance with AEC-Q101 and IEC 60664-1 standards underscores its suitability for automotive use.
