This innovative vehicle pays homage to the iconic Renault 5, celebrated for its avant-garde design and fuel efficiency. In the face of contemporary challenges, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric emerges as a bold response to the evolving environmental needs, focusing on energy efficiency, sustainability, and a reduces carbon footprint.

The vehicle boasts a heart-winning design, advanced electrical, digital features and developed in just three years through an innovative approach. Giles Vidal, VP Design at Renault & Ampere, highlights an intention to create a modern design: “We used pieces of collective memory that we translated in a very contemporary way to create the R5 of tomorrow. We didn’t want the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric to feel nostalgic or vintage. We wanted to trigger emotions and create a vibrant, energetic, and POP car.”

The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is built on the AmpR Small platform that is a new-generation eletric platform in Europe. This platform has a flat floor, optimal interior space, lower center of gravity. Remarkably, the car is equipped with the AC bidirectional charger. Car’s motor is compact, environmentally friendly and comes with three power ratings: 110, 90, and 70 kW.

In terms of technology, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric is equipped with features that enhance driving experience. Moreover, the vehicle aims to provide comfort and safety due to the latest OpenR Link system with Google integration along to an intelligent avatar, named Reno. Safety features include driving aids borrowed from higher-end models, active driver assist, and technological rescue services in case of an accident. Remarkably, the AC bidirectional charger, making the Renault 5 E-Tech electric compatible with V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technologies, allows users to contribute carbon-free electricity back to the grid and leads to significant savings on electricity bills. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric represents a perfect blend of innovation, sustainability, and design.

Renault Group plans to assemble the Renault 5 E-Tech electric and its battery in France from summer 2025. The vehicle, along with its battery, will be produced at the Douai plant.
