Hyundai Unveils INSTER: New Sub-Compact EV with 355 km Range and Advanced Features

Hyundai has introduced the all-electric INSTER, an A-segment sub-compact urban electric vehicle (EV) that combines a robust design with advanced technology and a spacious interior.

Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the all-electric INSTER, an A-segment sub-compact urban electric vehicle (EV) that combines a robust design with advanced technology and a spacious interior. Unveiled at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show, the INSTER offers a leading driving range of up to 355 kilometers according to WLTP standards. This compact SUV features a bold, futuristic exterior and a versatile interior, making it suitable for urban environments. It boasts a range of high-tech features, including a 10.25-inch digital cluster, wireless charging, customizable interior trim, and advanced safety systems such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control. The exterior includes eco-friendly materials like recycled paint and bioplastics.

The INSTER is powered by a 42 kWh or optional 49 kWh battery, providing impressive range and efficiency. It supports fast charging, reaching 80% in approximately 30 minutes with a 120 kW DC charger. Additional features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality for powering external devices and a variety of driver assistance systems. The INSTER will initially launch in Korea, followed by markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. A rugged variant named INSTER CROSS is also planned for future release, expanding the INSTER family with an outdoor-focused design.
