Hyundai India and CHARGE ZONE to Install EV Chargers

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with CHARGE ZONE to expand India's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with CHARGE ZONE to expand India’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. This collaboration involves installing DC 60 kW fast chargers across 100 Hyundai dealerships nationwide, significantly increasing the availability of EV charging stations in the country. The initiative supports India’s push towards electric mobility and aims to alleviate range anxiety among EV users. The charging network will be accessible to all EV users, regardless of the brand, through the ‘myHyundai’ and ‘CHARGE ZONE’ apps, offering convenient intercity and intracity travel options. Currently, HMIL operates 34 EV fast charging stations, with 19 already equipped with 60 kW chargers. The partnership will enhance this network with additional stations, providing a seamless and reliable charging experience.

The collaboration is a strategic move by HMIL to support the government’s EV adoption strategies and contribute to India’s carbon neutrality goals. The infrastructure expansion includes 15 additional fast charging stations outside the dealership network, featuring both DC 180 kW and 60 kW chargers. The Charging Management System (CMS) integrated into the ‘myHyundai’ app allows users to locate charging points, book slots, monitor remotely, and make digital payments. CHARGE ZONE’s renewable energy-powered charging network complements HMIL’s infrastructure, ensuring broad access and a robust support system for EV users across India. This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering a more extensive and user-friendly EV ecosystem in the country.
