In June of this year, XPENG unveiled plans for its new S5 liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations, emphasizing revolutionary advancements in electric vehicle (EV) charging technology. The S5 boasts an impressive 800 kW peak charging power, which can deliver over one kilometer of driving range in just one second. Its maximum output current reaches 800A with a voltage of 1,000V, offering users a streamlined and efficient charging experience that begins just 13 seconds after connecting. Key features include a front-line output design, left-side charging gun holder for easy access, and an intelligent indicator light to guide users through the charging process.
XPENG is set to deploy the S5 stations in numerous cities across China, including Shenzhen, Beijing, and Chengdu, as part of its broader effort to expand its energy replenishment infrastructure. By September, the company had already established over 1,440 self-operated stations, with more than 560 of them being ultra-fast. XPENG has also incorporated 88,000 third-party stations into its network and plans to build 10,000 self-operated stations by 2026, 4,500 of which will feature the new liquid-cooled technology. This ambitious growth underscores XPENG’s commitment to improving EV accessibility and charging efficiency in the coming years.
