Valeo Launches Tech Academy to Bridge Skills Gap in Electric and ADAS Vehicle Maintenance

Valeo is addressing the skills gap in the automotive industry by launching the Valeo Tech Academy.

Valeo is addressing the skills gap in the automotive industry by launching the Valeo Tech Academy, an innovative training program designed to meet the increasing demands of mechanics, particularly in the areas of electrification and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). With half of mechanics not repairing electric vehicles and over 60% not involved in ADAS maintenance, this program offers a unique combination of digital and in-person learning experiences. Valeo Tech Academy is notable for its brand-agnostic approach, providing training across all automotive systems, ensuring mechanics are equipped to handle a broad range of vehicles and technologies.

The academy offers an extensive digital learning program with 45 hours focused on traditional automotive maintenance, as well as 50 hours of electric and hybrid vehicle training, and 25 hours on ADAS. Mechanics can access the content through short, engaging capsules at their convenience, allowing flexible learning. The curriculum is supported by assessments and gamified content to ensure progress, with pricing options tailored to individual needs, including module purchases or subscription plans. The immersive content enhances both engagement and effectiveness, preparing mechanics for real-world applications.

In addition to digital training, Valeo Tech Academy provides advanced, simulator-based face-to-face sessions, enabling mechanics to engage with over 150 real-life scenarios. The simulators cover a wide range of repair situations across various vehicle types, helping mechanics develop skills in diagnosing and repairing complex electrified systems. These practical training sessions, certified by renowned institutions such as IMI and Qualiopi, ensure mechanics gain industry-recognized skills while improving workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
