The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric sedan has entered the market with significant anticipation.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric sedan has entered the market with significant anticipation, boasting a powerful 1,500 hp and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 2 seconds. Priced at 814,900 yuan (approximately $114,200 USD), this high-performance vehicle is set for an official launch in March 2025, with pre-sales already underway in China. The SU7 Ultra features enhancements over the standard SU7, including sportier bumpers, a large rear spoiler, and a wider body, measuring 5115 mm in length, 1970 mm in width, and 1465 mm in height, with a 3000 mm wheelbase. The sedan’s aerodynamic features, such as its 1560 mm rear spoiler and active rear diffuser, contribute to a downforce of 285 kg. It also rides on R21 wheels equipped with Pirelli P Zero 5 tires.

Internally, the SU7 Ultra boasts a luxury sport-oriented cabin with Alcantara leather seats and carbon fiber accents throughout. The car is powered by a cutting-edge 93.7 kWh CATL Qilin 2.0 battery capable of a maximum discharge of 1,330 kW, and it supports ultra-fast 5.2C DC charging, allowing for a 10-80% charge in just 11 minutes. The three-motor powertrain generates a combined output of 1,138 kW (1,526 hp) and a torque of 1,770 Nm, propelling the car to a top speed of 350 km/h and completing a quarter-mile in 9.23 seconds. Advanced braking is achieved through the largest carbon ceramic discs on any sports car to date, paired with Akebono calipers. Notably, the SU7 Ultra Prototype recorded an impressive lap time of 6:46.874 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, although the production model, which is heavier, may not replicate this feat. Xiaomi’s entry into the high-performance electric car market positions the SU7 Ultra as a strong competitor, with CEO Lei Jun highlighting its advantages over pricier models like the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. Early sales forecasts are promising, with Goldman Sachs projecting 4,000 units sold in 2025 and nearly 3,680 orders secured within the first 10 minutes post-launch presentation.
