Transforming the Future of Electric and Autonomous Vehicles
Hyundai Motor Group has announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to establish an AI factory powered by NVIDIA’s cutting-edge Blackwell AI infrastructure. This initiative aims to accelerate advancements in autonomous vehicles (AVs), smart factory automation, and robotics. Reshaping how electric vehicles (EVs) and smart mobility solutions are developed and deployed. This collaboration aligns with Korea’s national vision to boost its physical AI industry through close cooperation with government entities and investments exceeding $3 billion.
Electric vehicles are increasingly integrated with AI-driven technologies, which enhance in-vehicle experiences, safety, and autonomous capabilities. Hyundai’s AI factory combines NVIDIA’s advanced computing platforms to power a comprehensive ecosystem. It spans from AI model training to real-time deployment inside vehicles and factories. This marks a critical step for the automotive sector, transforming EVs and autonomous vehicles into continuously learning intelligent agents. At the same time boosting Korea’s position as a global AI and mobility pioneer.
Collaborative Investment and Talent Development for Korea’s AI Ecosystem
Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA are not only focused on technological innovation but also on cultivating a vibrant ecosystem for AI talent and industry advancement in Korea. The partnership involves the establishment of dedicated centers—such as the Physical AI Application Center and NVIDIA AI Technology Center—and physical AI data centers. These facilities will foster dynamic exchanges among engineers and technicians and support the Korean government’s effort to build a national physical AI cluster.
By blending Korea’s rich manufacturing data with NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure, the collaboration promises a win-win scenario for industrial AI transformation. This will accelerate innovation across manufacturing industries. The joint effort will leverage around 50,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs to facilitate integrated AI model training, validation, and deployment, promoting scalable and advanced AI solutions in mobility and smart manufacturing.
AI-Driven Mobility and Smart Factory Technologies
The Hyundai AI factory employs three core NVIDIA AI compute platforms that form the backbone of its physical AI and robotics infrastructure. The NVIDIA DGX platform enables large-scale AI model training for autonomous driving and vehicle software development. Meanwhile, NVIDIA Omniverse and Cosmos platforms run on NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers to create digital twins. Virtual replicas of production environments used to optimize factory processes, simulate driving scenarios, and accelerate robot integration.
These digital twins assist in predictive maintenance and allow software- and hardware-in-the-loop validation. Thus paving the way for fully autonomous, software-defined factories. Hyundai’s use of NVIDIA Isaac Sim for robotics simulation enhances robot deployment precision, motion planning, and ergonomic safety. These sophisticated digital environments enable the design and manufacturing of electric and autonomous vehicles that are safer and more reliable.
Advanced In-Vehicle AI and Autonomous Driving Features
Hyundai’s use of NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor, a safety-certified AI compute platform running on DriveOS, will provide the in-vehicle intelligence required for next-generation advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and immersive AI experiences. Hyundai plans to build and deploy advanced AI models using NVIDIA Nemotron open AI reasoning models and NVIDIA NeMo tools. Besides enabling over-the-air updates and continuous learning for vehicles.
This integration will bring intelligent infotainment, personalized digital assistants, and adaptive comfort systems to EVs, elevating the customer experience. Hyundai’s in-vehicle AI ecosystem transforms vehicles into evolving intelligent agents with enhanced autonomy, safety, and comfort. Basically demonstrating the future of electric mobility solutions powered by artificial intelligence.
Setting New Standards in Global Automotive Innovation
Together, Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA are propelling electric and autonomous vehicles into a new era by merging manufacturing expertise with cutting-edge physical AI infrastructure. This public-private partnership, formalized with the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT, aims not only to revolutionize mobility but also to establish Korea as a global leader in AI innovation.
By uniting intelligent vehicle technologies with smart factory automation and robotics, Hyundai is creating an interconnected, intelligent ecosystem. That sets new standards for automotive manufacturing and mobility worldwide. The $3 billion investment and 50,000 GPUs deployed for AI development underscore the scale and ambition of this collaboration, which will significantly impact the multitrillion-dollar mobility industry’s future.
