Volta Trucks responds to the UK Government announcement to ban sales of petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030, calling for the ban to be extended to large commercial vehicles.

The EQC was the first all-electric vehicle to be integrated into ongoing production at the Mercedes-Benz Bremen plant in May 2019.

In the coming generations of battery cells, Mercedes-Benz is already reducing the cobalt content to less than ten percent and intends to dispense with materials such as cobalt entirely through post-lithium-ion technologies with new material compositions.

The jury identified the cars’ drive system as a major factor in their success.
