Renault Trucks & Schwing-Stetter Launch All-Electric Concrete Mixer

Renault Trucks and Schwing-Stetter have collaborated to introduce a groundbreaking innovation in the construction industry.

Renault Trucks and Schwing-Stetter have collaborated to introduce a groundbreaking innovation in the construction industry—an all-electric solution for concrete transport. Recognizing the challenges posed by battery weight on payload capacity, the two companies have developed the Renault Trucks E-Tech C 10×4, a five-axle electric truck equipped with a fully electric mixer. This vehicle is designed to maintain high efficiency while reducing emissions, offering a zero-emission alternative for concrete transportation. The model, which will be unveiled at the Bauma trade fair in 2025, represents a major step forward in sustainable construction logistics.

The Renault Trucks E-Tech C 10×4 has been designed to optimize both manoeuvrability and payload capacity, overcoming the limitations typically associated with electric trucks. While traditional diesel-powered mixers in Europe generally carry up to 8 cubic meters of concrete, the innovative design of this five-axle vehicle allows it to transport up to 10 cubic meters. By repositioning the batteries vertically behind the cab, Renault Trucks has ensured a compact wheelbase and improved handling, making it suitable for urban environments and constrained job sites. This electric solution not only maintains performance but also aligns with the industry’s growing commitment to decarbonization.

Beyond its engineering advancements, this new electric truck offers a practical and cost-effective solution for the construction sector. With a range of up to 140 km and an optimized battery-charging strategy, the truck can efficiently complete multiple daily trips without compromising on productivity. Additionally, Renault Trucks and Schwing-Stetter aim to expand the truck’s availability across European markets where regulations permit its operation. By advocating for regulatory harmonization, Renault Trucks seeks to accelerate the adoption of electric technology in concrete transport, reinforcing both companies’ dedication to sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness in the industry.
