Anti-Theft Driver Identification Display from Continental and trinamiX

Continental and trinamiX have introduced the Driver Identification Display, which will enable biometric recognition of the driver by the vehicle. This is the first automotive display to provide a high level of authorization without any contact. The application will provide an important measure against fraud and theft.

Users are already familiar with facial recognition applications on their mobile phones and now the same method is coming to our vehicles. trinamiX, a leading provider of biometric solutions, and Continental are taking the interaction between vehicle and driver to a new level. This technology makes it impossible to move the car without the authorized driver sitting in the seat. In addition, the system can also be used to enable the secure fulfillment of digital payment processes through the car. Drivers will be able to take advantage of the driver recognition screen’s reliable confirmation for transactions such as fuel purchases, parking payments or rentals.

The Driver Identification Display, which won innovation award at CES 2023, will be unveiled for the first time at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona.
