Infineon Technologies AG is expanding its range of OptiMOS™ 7 MOSFETs, introducing new 40 V devices in robust, lead-free packages, and adding 80 V and 100 V options. These MOSFETs are optimized for both current and future 48 V automotive applications, such as electric power steering, braking systems, power switches in new zone architectures, battery management, e-fuse boxes, and various 12 V and 48 V electrical system applications. Additionally, they cater to other transportation sectors including light electric vehicles (LEVs), e-scooters, e-motorcycles, and commercial and agricultural vehicles (CAVs). The expansion aims to support a wide array of automotive needs with high power efficiency and innovative, durable packaging.
Axel Hahn, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Automotive LV MOSFETs at Infineon, highlighted the company’s commitment to advancing automotive power MOSFET technology through power efficiency and robust packaging. Utilizing 300 mm thin-wafer technology and innovative packaging, the OptiMOS 7 technology offers significant performance benefits across all voltage classes. The new components come in various rugged automotive power packages, providing high power density and energy efficiency with industry-leading low on-state resistance. They also feature reduced switching losses, improved Safe Operating Area (SOA) robustness, and high avalanche current capability, thus enabling efficient system designs for future automotive applications.
