Pirelli Elect Tyres: 500+ Homologations and 50 km Extra Range

Pirelli has achieved a significant milestone with over 500 homologations for its Elect tyres, specifically designed for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, since their launch in 2019. These tyres incorporate advanced technologies that cater to the unique demands of electric vehicles (EVs), providing benefits such as up to 50 kilometers of additional range and annual savings of up to 150 euros on charging costs. With low rolling resistance, enhanced grip for managing high torque, and reinforced structures to handle the weight of EVs, Pirelli Elect tyres reduce tyre wear by up to 20% and improve acoustic comfort by up to 20%. This positions Pirelli as a leader in the EV tyre segment, with seven out of ten premium and prestige car manufacturers selecting these tyres.

The Elect technology, which debuted with the Porsche Taycan, is now integrated into various Pirelli product families, including the P Zero, Scorpion, and Cinturato ranges. These tyres are available across all seasons, offering performance, efficiency, and noise reduction even with heavily treaded options. The P Zero family, frequently chosen by premium manufacturers for sporty models, leads in the number of sizes equipped with Elect technology, followed by the Scorpion range for SUVs and the Cinturato range for sedans and CUVs. Pirelli’s continued innovation, utilizing tools like virtualization and artificial intelligence, ensures that its Elect tyres meet the evolving technical and performance demands of modern electric vehicles.
