BYD Introduces Super e-Platform with Unmatched Charging Capabilities
BYD has once again pushed the boundaries of electric vehicle (EV) innovation with the launch of its new Super e-Platform. This next-generation EV platform introduces redesigned blade batteries that support ultra-fast charging speeds, enabling up to 1,000-kW charging power. This breakthrough marks the industry’s first megawatt-level charging system, significantly reducing charging times. The flash-charge batteries incorporated into this platform boast a 10 C charging multiplier, meaning they can theoretically be fully charged in just six minutes. Additionally, BYD has unveiled a new high-revving motor with an industry-leading 30,511 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 580-kW peak power, surpassing traditional V12 fuel engines. This remarkable technological advancement cements BYD’s position at the forefront of EV development.
New Han L and Tang L Models Now Available for Pre-Sale
The first vehicles built on BYD’s Super e-Platform are the Han L EV and Tang L EV, both of which are now available for pre-order. The Han L EV sedan is priced between RMB 270,000 ($37,330) and RMB 350,000, while the Tang L EV SUV ranges from RMB 280,000 to RMB 360,000. These high-performance models deliver exceptional acceleration, with the Han L EV reaching 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, and the Tang L EV achieving the same in 3.6 seconds. Additionally, both vehicles feature BYD’s advanced God’s Eye B smart driving system, equipped with roof-mounted LiDAR technology for enhanced autonomous capabilities. For hybrid enthusiasts, BYD is also introducing the Han L DM and Tang L DM models, powered by the brand’s most advanced DM-p hybrid technology, though pricing details are yet to be announced.
BYD Expands Charging Infrastructure to Support 1,000-kW Charging
To complement the Super e-Platform, BYD is rolling out a 1,000-kW supercharging network, with plans to build over 4,000 charging stations. These superchargers can add 2 kilometers of range per second, or 400 kilometers in just five minutes, significantly outperforming Tesla’s 500-kW V4 Superchargers. Additionally, BYD is integrating energy storage solutions to ensure consistent charging performance, even in areas with limited power supply. With these advancements, BYD is leading the charge toward a future of ultra-fast, efficient, and convenient EV charging, setting a new benchmark in the industry. The official launch of these models is scheduled for early April, marking the beginning of a new era in EV performance and charging technolog.
