Luminar LiDAR on Future Polestar Models

Swedish electric performance car brand Polestar is expanding its partnership with Luminar to incorporate long-range LiDAR technology into its future vehicles. With the adoption of safety and autonomous driving features in next-generation vehicles, the use of LiDAR technology is growing.

The two companies already have an existing agreement to supply LiDAR technology for the Polestar 3. With the extension of the agreement, Luminar’s 3D laser scanning technology will be included in the next generation of Polestar vehicles, including the Polestar 5.

“Luminar is at the forefront of long-range LiDAR technology and this closer collaboration will allow for greater innovation in our cars to come. We look forward to combining our R&D and product design expertise to deliver truly stunning LiDAR integration and capabilities for the Polestar brand,” comments Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath.
